Javea or sometimes Xabia is a great coastal town within Alicante. It is in Valencia and is located at the coast of the Mediterranean Sea. It lies behind a bay area that is well sheltered by rocky headlands and the town is today a very popular market town as well as a seaside resort area even though it is pretty small. The town of Javea lies to the north of Alicante province. When the days are clear, one can see the island of Ibiza as it lies some distance away. The land is quite flat and very fertile for agricultural purposes. There are many streams that are found all over the fertile area and the land is utilised for the production of olive and citrus trees. The highest summit here is Montgo. It has a height of well over seven hundred metres. It resembles an elephant as most people say. There is also a natural park here that is totally worth a visit. It was set up back in the 1987 and covers the area from sant Antoni to la Plana.

The massif of Montgo protects Javea from the winter winds that can be quite harsh over the season. The micro climate is also very unique and the WHO has declared this town as one of the healthiest places in Spain. The hours of sunshine every year are more than most areas record. For the people from north Europe, Javea is one of the most sought out winter destination since it offers such good climate all year through. It is very easy to get the month by month temperatures for this region so as to choose the one you feel is best.

Here is a very active industry dealing with the sale of property. This is because more and more people are choosing Xabia as a retirement destination and therefore purchase villas here.
